2024 Field

The margins we would lose by if we ran as a 90's style 'Principled Conservative' would be massive. How people can't see that is beyond me.

Do you think it would be better or worse than the GOP performance since 2016?

Its fine Sturg -Pretend the constant lies (that people used to believe) / outright collusion from all aspects of government against Trump / cheating (which you always said existed) didn't contribute to these things.

I don't want to continue to go back and forth with you on this. It is what it is and we will just always disagree.

If you think a 90's style conservative platform would have any success nationally outside of a few red states (where you can run anything and win) then I'll just continue to chuckle to myself.

I just notice you're constantly making proclamations about the electoral slaughter that's coming while constantly ignoring all the election results for nearly a decade

The real story of the day is that Trump admitted he doesn’t have

$464 million in available assets to post bond, and asked if he could post

a much smaller bond. That won’t fly. He’s on a 30 day asset seizure

clock and can’t stop it. Tick tock.

Trump seems to be admitting a lot lately.
By even appealing the immunity ruling he is admitting
his guilt of those crimes he's accused

maybe i just dont care

perhaps i reread it before pushing POST, perhaps
I think embedding is a waste of time
perhaps --- if that is all you get out of this perhaps you should rethink your reading.

But, end of the day, it aint about you or me
if that is all ?

certainly was not expecting to be told to vote for FDR policies or else we're doomed

Not to turn this into a history lesson, but FDR takes way too much flack for the difficult decisions that were necessary to be made during the Great Depression. Granted, social security sucks and is a failing system. But we would be decades behind, not only economically, but technologically as well without the New Deal. Much of the nation was barely above poverty level, and the rural areas of the US were not much above the wilderness era. It's doubtful many cities in the South would have survived without the New Deal. It brought much needed infrastructure and financial stability to the nation that at the time was still being built.

we disagree on Social Security

The name says it all.
Millions upon millions of people have , do and will need the security we all chip into
which personally I have always been more than happy to contribute my share.
All the while investing in my future as well.
Not every American is/was as fortunate as me and mine
to be able to have those options.

Perhaps your issue is how it has been managed.
Look no further than policies implemented during the 1980s.
Or go back if you will to the Herbert Hoovers
who had issues due to political expedience.

The recent border kerfluffle reminds me of SS politics of the 1930s

It could arguably use some evolution. But like everything else dealing with conservative (R)
" either do it our way or else ..."
and the " or else" is an impediment

Are you unaware of how young people / women / minorities vote?

What do you think happened to all the old white people were reliable R voters?

How many votes were changed because Americans thought Trump and Putin colluded to win 2016? Or how about Kavanaugh was a rapist? Do I need to go on? You know these things but for some reason pretend like they weren’t factors or you pretend like you didn’t always say 2020 was stolen. It’s just frustrating is all.

As someone who has spent 12 years in sales, I learned early on that only the results matter, not the reasons for the the lack of them

I’ll take that as you think those events significantly impacted Americans voting decisions. That’s all I needed to hear.
