This wouldn’t make me any more likely to vote for him (shocking, I know) but I think this is a positive step from Trump. Above all else with Project 2025, I think treating thousands of civil servants who largely operate apolitically in our government as political cannon fodder is reprehensible. The rule put in place by the current OPM is a good step to safeguard against this, as I hope removing such a rule would be politically unviable in the fall.

Yes - it’s about the media and not voters.
Trump did this for the same reason RDS didn’t say a word about his abortion policies before he was reelected.
If we want to talk about *eliminating* wasteful government positions that contribute to a bureaucracy, I’d understand this sarcastic retort. But we’re really just talking about an ability to keep that structure but bring in yes men in thousands of roles. If the Dems proposed this strategy, I’d be just as opposed to it. The government does not need to include an ideological purity test to serve in administrative roles.
