The overall message though has a point. For some reason there is a collection of republicans who have no interest in election security. Why is that?

Because we believe In election security but we also believe that trump is a big baby that needs to STFU and he needs to realize his mouth got him elected and it also cost him his re-election.

There was one thing that didn't get Trump re-elected and it wasn't his big mouth.

Look at the turnout comparison for Republicans when he is and isn't on the ballot.

You put a cookie cutter republican on the balllot and you are risking it bigtime.
 
Senators Warnock and Ossoff can thank him for their election wins, but it's not because he wasn't on the ballot. It's because he pulled this same stuff leading up to the GA runoffs. Any big spending legislation, any voting"rights" legislation, any court confirmations, or anything else the Dems manage to squeak through the Senate between now and 2023 can be laid at Trump's feet for what he said prior to the runoffs.

McConnel blew it on the stimulus and I think deep down you are pretty convinced that elections are stolen by Democrats.

Every single media narrative about Trump has been wrong (from both the left and the right). This is just another one to protect the establishment.
 
Nah, I fully believe if he could have Stfu more times than not… he’d have been re-elected.

His mouth drove people out to simply vote against him. To vote for anyone other than Trump

I'm well aware there is a large contingency that believes this.

Obviously I am not in that boat. The Republican party for decades has completely alienated their voters by not putting their interests first but now we are supposed to believe that they have the right pulse of the people in this country?

I'll remain skeptical on that one.

I think the population that votes based on the windowdressing you are referencing is smaller than what is led to believe.

The idea is for controlled opposition and to not have someone like Trump in the big seat moving the country away from globalism.

I have family members that check all the boxes for guaranteed GOP voters. Pro gun, concealed carriers, evangelical, pro life, middle class, rural, etc. They voted for Trump in 16 and Biden in 20, because of the stuff he said. I agree that it should be a secondary concern, but his vulgarity and hatefulness were too much for many to look past.
