No way to cut this except that it's bad news for Democrats heading into next year's midterms. If these races are a sign of things to come, it could be a blood bath.

I'm not going to make any conclusions about 2024 though. Way too much is up in the air. Biden could have a George W Bush 9/11 moment. Biden could decide not to run and send Harris out instead. Trump could run again and scare off moderates. Or things could continue on the path they are and we see Republican unified government in 2024. So not much to conclude at this point.
 
Only thing that matters is checking the ballot box.

As long as that happens D participation “disappears” and we will have permanent sanity restored to the nation.
 
Nice to see the socialist running for mayor of Buffalo, with endorsements from Bernie and AOC, take the loss. She defeated the incumbent in a primary, but it looks like he won in a write-in campaign.

And in Minneapolis, voters rejected the idea of replacing their police force with some sort of “public safety” department.

That's a huge if. Again, it wasn't a national election. Virginia had more people show up in 2018 for their senate race than this election. That is with a clearly motivated republican base for this election. Will that base be motivated again next year? Who knows.

Yep the democrats didn’t care about these races last night. They sent their all star team down to Virginia, but didn’t care.

For anyone to not understand the pulse of the nation right now is something else.

Just remember these are the types of landslides that actually happened in 2020.
