2024 Minor League Thread

There's no way the Braves let TDA go at an 8 mil price point. We all remember the great Catcher crisis of 2021. And both of the last 2 years one of the TDA/Murphy combo missed significant time. Let Baldwin take over for Tromp this offseason and reevaluate again after next offseason

TDA isnt good wnough to be a DH and he’ll be 36 next year. Thats old for a catcher. I love TDA but his clock is ticking.

Nobody is saying his clock isn't ticking. All I'm saying is catchers take a lot of attrition throughout the year and I'd rather have 3 good catchers than 2

I’d agree with that. I think alot will come down to Ronald next year. I think you start to see them baby him more and let him DH some. If thats the case we’ll have to carry another OF or let Ozuna go. They won’t carry 3 catchers.

I agree. I hadn't thought much of him as a prospect before. It would be big for us if he can replace d'Arnaud next year on the roster. Since we want to get under the luxury cap to reset the penalties that almost 8 million in savings could be important. I also would really like the catchers being opposite side hitters so we can play matchups late game.

Matzek at 5.5M, and Bummer at 7ish feel like more likely candidates to be let go. I'd keep TDA, b/c if Murphy gets hurt again, you're basically down to Trump and Baldwin as a catcher duo.

Nacho stays on fire... 2 for 2 and another homerun so far in Gwinnet's first game of a double header.

He's now hitting .330 with a .998 OPS in AAA with 7 homers and 24 RBIs... BABIP right at career averages thus far.

That’s getting to be very encouraging

I’d assume if the Braves make a trade before the deadline or in the off-season it’s going to include Baldwin. TDA should be brought back for one more year. Then we’ll be watching and waiting on Montgomery.

Uhhhh... anyone paying attention to what Drue Hackenberg is doing today in Mississippi?

6.0 innings, 3 hits, 1 ER, ZERO BB, 15 K's

All on 84 pitches (64 strikes)
