2025-2026 offseason thread

If Kim ends up getting ~3/$45 and it isn’t with Atlanta, my concern about $ will go into hyperdrive. He is worth that gamble, and this team being so devoid of any SS option shouldn’t pass it up.
I think it's possible that's what we offered and what he ends up with, but not with the braves. I can see AA moving on after he made his best offer

Agreed. If Kim gets 3/45 and he's not a Brave then something is really wrong in the FO.

I agree with this also. That's probably what we offered but Boras thinks he can get more. AA can't wait all offseason to fill our biggest hole so at some point he's gonna have to move on.

I saw MLB Trade Rumors had us predicted to land a few guys - Bassitt (SP), Keller (RP), Iggy (RP), Kim (SS) and Dominguez (RP). Realistically, if we landed three or four of those players AND made a trade for one legit starter OR bat, I'd be pretty damn happy with the offseason. Depth is our biggest issue and that would cover it.

Sure, it’s possible. I think it’s likely Boras was taking him to FA regardless.

I don’t think Kim is ruled out though. Boras knows what Atlanta is willing to pay, and Kim does have some say in where he goes as well. I think getting him in Atlanta for even the short time was valuable there.

I could see a desperate team doing something like 4/60. But something around 3/45 with a 4th yr mutual option and a buyout seems more likely, imo.

The problem is we are the desperate team at SS. Unless we sign an offensive powerhouse like Tucker, there's no way we can have Allen-type offense again. We have to grab Kim or get super creative.

AA isn't one to wait around (Olson) before he makes a deal for somebody else. Winn, Crawford, and a couple of others could be had and wouldn't require a ton to get them. Boras is gonna wait til Bichette signs so he has more leverage.

The rockies aren't a smart organization, but damn this sucks about Kris Bryant:

Kris Bryant’s back is all jacked up and getting worse.

Kris Bryant has played in only 170 games over his four seasons with the Rockies, and the 2025 campaign saw Bryant appear in just 10 games before his recurring back issues brought his season to an early close. Lumbar degenerative disc disease has left Bryant feeling pain while performing basically every baseball activity not related to swinging, and the former NL MVP told the Denver Post’s Patrick Saunders, and this discomfort has now extended to his day-to-day life.

“It’s exhausting for me waking up and hoping to feel [better],” Bryant said. “I can’t tell you the last time I woke up feeling I’m in a good spot….If you asked me two or three months ago, I would say [my back pain] was not affecting my everyday life. But now it is, which is really annoying to me because usually when you kind of just rest, it’s supposed to get better. So maybe I’m at a point where I should just do a bunch of stuff to see if that helps me.”
