2025-2026 offseason thread

Bro he missed the playoff one year out of 8
I get it. But teams fire guys all the time bc somebody always takes the fall for not winning. Right now it's Snit catching it but if another manager is brought in and we still don't advance further than the 1st round then they will need to start placing blame in other areas. Outside of the manage the GM is the next fall guy. Love AA but some of the extensions have started to look bad and he has had 2 bad trade periods and a bad offseason in a row. This offseason he needs a home run.

Can you name a single GM/POBO who was fired for having two losing seasons after a 7 winning seasons including a World Series? I actually can’t. Closest that comes to mind is Dombrowski in Boston and that’s with an infamously happy trigger finger ownership.

There’s no shot he’s getting fired with 5 years left on his contract.

Well his job is to fill seats, and the Braves drew nearly 3 million fans again. I highly doubt he is on the hot seat. There doesn't appear to be any pressure to win in Atlanta.
This is a team that fired their GM a year after winning the division and after averaging 90 wins over a 5 year period because they didn’t like the direction the organization was heading.

This team has only had 7 losing seasons in the last 35 years.

This team also, much to the chagrin of a lot of its fan base, refuses to ever tank in a lost season.

None of that happens if there is no pressure to win.

I wouldn't say he is making the team money. The battery is a cash cow and anybody could make money with it. McGuirk is handling all of that stuff not AA. AA has had 2 shitty offseason in a row while wasting 2 more years of the core he builts prime years. If he has another shitty offseason he should no doubt be on the hot seat and I'm a huge AA supporter.

Let me rephrase. As long as profits go up there isnt a problem that needs to be fixed in ownerships mind.

Yeah it's gonna take more than 2 seasons missing the playoffs for the Braves to move on from AA.
He's signed through 2031, some of the extensions look a little eh. But it'll take more than one bad year to get rid of AA.

JK, Luke Williams, and others released. More cuts expected.

Well, at least we got some minor ABs and IPs out of David Fletcher after we flipped Evan White (part of the Kelenic deal) to the Angels.

Let me never harp again about one of the most ridiculous moves I have witnessed as a Braves' fan and being a Braves' fan since the late-1950s, I have seen a few.
