2025-2026 offseason thread

Yaz destroys righties and Murphy does lefties. There's your DH platoon

Also, Yaz was insane after he was traded to KC.

Either way, spending like $11M on Yaz, $6
5M on Dubón and $16M on Iggy means they have money for sure.
Can also rotate Profar, Acuna in on DH. Yeah they've already spent close to 40M already, they "should" have money for bigger moves aka SP, bullpen, SS.

This makes me think they’re actually going to move Murphy. No way we’re going to pay $15m for him to back up Baldwin and DH vs lefties.

I like this. Gives us OF options for Profar and Acuna. It also signals we have money to spend. AA just said we didn't need another Of and here we go. The depth next year should be really really good. Trade for Seager and the offense is set.

It's funny how many people (rightfully so) bitched and complained about depth for more than a year, but the Braves start making quality depth moves and people absolutely lose it. Yaz and Dubón aren't superstars, but they can be essential pieces.

We’ll see, but I’m fine paying him that. Let Baldwin continue learning from him. Murphy did wonders for Waldrep last year and turned his career around.

I think we just have a little PTSD from last off-season. If we're still planning to bring in a legit SS and a good SP, these are great moves.

If Dubon, Iggy, and Yaz are our big off-season moves...yeesh.

Dubon's absolutely fine as the backup infielder. But he cant be the starting shortstop on OD.

Agreed. I just don't think this is even a top 3 move for us. SS, SP, and a RP are needed and they'll probably be with better players than Yaz. We needed another good OF and it's just a 2 year deal.

I wonder how much the Rangers would eat if we sent Sean Murphy, Waldrep, Nacho, and Owen Murphy.
I mean, Seager has 6/189 left on his deal, thats honestly market value at this point. But you'd hope a little bit if we gave them a good prospect in return plus Murphy.

I like Yaz, but there has to more moves coming, more importantly, SS/SP/RP, in whatever order. If this doesnt preclude that, i'm good with it. If not...

Keep dreaming on the Murphy trade, but I would imagine there is next to zero chance it happens this off-season. He isn't going to hold any real value until he proves he's healthy.
