The Dodgers are simply the best franchise in sports.
They are trying to break the single season W record and break the record for most consecutive world titles (5 by the Yankees in the 50s)
The Dodgers have the second best market, the best ownership, the best TV contract, and possibly the best player ever- whose unique situation allows him to defer his salary for a decade, all while allowing the Dodgers to become the de facto team of his very rich nation.
The Dodgers are the closest thing to unbeatable baseball has seen since Mantle and Stengel, and they're doing it in a much larger league with much tougher competition.
A salary cap sounds cute, but it wouldn't have any real effect on the Dodgers for at least half a decade- and I have serious doubts a salary cap is even implemented. The MLBPA is the most powerful union in the country, and they hate the owners already.
