2025-2026 offseason thread

They’ll need to get creative — either via trades, offloading some current contracts (Bummer), or biting the bullet and accepting the third luxury tax threshold penalties. They probably still need another bat and a true frontline starter.

I can see a world where they ride with Dubón for a bit while HSK works his way back, but I’ll be legitimately mad if they don’t add another starter.

You people are a bunch of paranoid weirdoes. There's no way he could hurt his finger as a result of slipping on ice? Have you ever, you know, fallen? There are a thousand different ways Kim might have reached out to brace himself that could have a resulted in a finger injury. Weird stuff happens when you suddenly, unexpectedly slip and fall.

We should investigate? How? To what end? We send in Jessica Jones to, I don't know, try to somehow prove that Kim was lying about slipping on ice? That he was doing weird sex stuff instead? OK, so he was, and we void his contract. Then what? Instead of one or two months of Dubon and then the rest of the season with Kim, we get a full season of Dubon. Hurray? All so we can save $20 million for one season. There's not even a long-term commitment for us to rid ourselves of. And if we send in our crack team of trenchcoat-wearing, fedora-clad private investigators and it turns out Kim is telling the truth, congrats, your Steinbrenner maneuver dynamited your relationship with Kim and probably pissed off the rest of the locker room as well.

Anytime I have a player suffer a significant injury outside of baseball activities, I'm investigating.

First, I don't think it would offend anyone to look into what happened. Kim knows he's getting paid $20 million and the Braves shouldn't just trust him. It's a business. If your work requires a doctor's note for FMLA leave do you get pissed? No, you get a note. It's business.

Second, the investigation doesn't even have to be primarily about voiding Kim's contract. I'd want to know about what happened to see if there's any tortfeasor out there you could sue. Did he slip on ice on a sidewalk in front of a grocery store? I'd want to know that.

Bottom line, if you're a player and you get hurt away from the team, you're probably going to expect the team to look into it. A team would be stupid not to.

Next thing you know he'll be posting his worthless patents!

My patent bonuses are plenty valuable to me. Just got one for training a player session predictive model…you know, things actual valuable members of a team produce.

Still waiting on a link to a job rec you control floppy tits.
