2025 Around The League Thread

If I were Montero, DLS, Eli white, Nick Allen, etc, I'd juice it up. Maybe you get away with it a year or 2 to stack some money.

If I were a marginal player, I probably would too. You have the opportunity to set your family up for life.

Dude I don't know why you decided to start an argument about this, but his velocity literally has a downward trend since his peak. Not ticking back up into the same area. It's a clear and evident downward trend.

And it's a significant drop this year. Take the L and move on.
He’s pitched between 92.6 and 93.3 his entire career until this year. I don’t really consider 92.9 to 92.6 a decline, especially considering he’s been at 92.6 before, but if you do, then fine I guess. Majority of the time he’s been at 92.9.

I think it’s strange to get your panties in a bunch over me saying I think Nola will age well and could be the guy he was last year for the better portion of that contract. But them panties are sure riding

The only person getting their panties in a wad is the guy trying to argue whether a clear decline in velocity over several years from his peak velocity, isn't really a decline in velocity because.....reasons.

As has been mentioned, there is a clear trend of declining stuff. From declining velocity, to increased hard hit rates, to increased HR rates over the last 2+ years. He's already at a 4 ERA and FIP since the start of the 2023 season. Even best case scenario, he's a low 4 ERA pitcher. The more likely scenario is that he has regressed even further, which would track with the trend he's been on.
