Ozuna since June...

No positional flexibility at all.

Be honest, what would you trade for him?
I mean April - May existed as well. And the last 2 years he was a top 10 hitter in the league.

I think if I was a contender needing a hitter, I would absolutely send some lottery ticket type of prospects for the chance that he can run it back for the stretch run. Especially if the other team was picking up the salary.

With the hip injury is all that matters for a rental. The braves are one of the worst offenses in baseball, and yet, they sit Ozuna. How do you explain this if Ozuna can be considered a good hitter?
because he has not position flexibility and we have a dumb manager who is now sitting him instead of showcasing him that he is better. He absolutely should be playing more.. when Baldwin is catching Ozuna is DH.. when Murph is catching, Baldwin is DH unless it is a LHP.

then Murph and/or Ozuna should be gone in about a week. but instead, twit and AA tanked Ozuna and are going to tank Murph when the Ga heat zaps him and he hits sub.200 the rest of the year.

I would assume they are sitting him so he doesn't risk further injury and then they can't move him at all.

And also, it isn't like we are running bums out there to replace him. Murphy and Baldwin are both really good as well.

They let him hit yesterday (strike out). If it were to prevent further injury, doubt that happens

He got hot on the dice in 2021 at the deadline, and it led to a miracle run. He should be given a ton of credit for those moves, but I think it went to his head. He's outsmarted himself for the most part since, but had such a great team he inherited that it didn't matter much. Now that the team isn't covering up for his and snit's failures, the shine is gone.
Yall act like we should be winning 3-4 titles in a row. How many teams win back to back? We won over 100 games in 22 and 23 and have made the playoffs every year but this one. Every GM has flaws but yall act like every deal he makes should be perfect and it should lead to a WS lol. Yall know that every team and every GM is not perfect right?

Because Ozuna was handled about as poorly as a player who doesn't even play the field could have been handled. We all knew the Baldwin/Murphy combo was viable when Ozuna was playing hurt and tanking his numbers, but that's not what happened. Now he isn't being given a chance to prove he's healthy in games that are meaningless to win while the Baldwin/Murphy combo crushes it. The situation literally could not have been handled more poorly.

So now AA gets to try to sell Ozuna at about 50% of his rental value. It sucks, and only a GM who wants to roll the dice on his hip will bite.

You know it's ok to call it like it is too, right? AA has done an abysmal job with acquiring mlb depth, and bc of this, the injuries have been devastating.

So he should have covered for Sale, Schwellenbach and AJSS? You can't and there's not another GM that could either. We've had 2 years of horrible injuries to too many good players that can't be replaced. I can't be convinced that AA didn't have to stay under the tax and that comes from above him. He did what he could with what he had. You can't make teams trade you certain players or sign certain contracts. This was a lost year before it really began. None of us could have foreseen Albies and Harris falling off a cliff or Iglesias sucking ass but AA was supposed to see that? Come on now make it make sense.

Then I'd try to it. Fedde eats innings and keeps us from rushing guys just to have someone logging innings
We could get Fedde for free if we actually wanted him (well we'd have to pay his salary, but he wouldn't cost anything to acquire). And to TBH, he probably passes through waivers anyways and we could get him for league minimum.

The fact the Braves suffered insurmountable injury problems does not excuse the fact that there was zero depth to withstand any injury problems. Proper MLB depth may have had this team in a position to not be sellers at the deadline in hopes that Sale/Schwelly coming back in Sept could lead a playoff surge.

Now that there was quite literally zero MLB depth, even when everyone KNEW Acuna would be out early and Arcia was likely crap, there was no hope of covering for any injuries. It's ok to have a couple AAAA players, but half the position player group is AAAA players, which is completely unacceptable.

And Lopez.

That's literally 4/5ths of the opening day rotation.

But yes, the team should have had the depth to cover the entire rotation getting hurt. Other teams do it all the time.

It's every year. Every season about now, the braves need starting pitching. Their offense used to be good enough to cover it up, but not the last 2 seasons. Then you move on to having a bench with literally no mlb players on the position side

It's useless. They'd disown their children for criticizing AA

The Braves have not had this type of pitching issue every year. And again, no team is covering for 4/5ths of the rotation being on the 60 day DL. Get real.

I was thinking about the money part of it, but I haven't even looked at fedde's pay, so it may not br necessary
