2025 Trade Deadline Thread

Obviously not a guy we'd deal for now, but he makes a ton of sense for us this offseason and him being traded now would also remove the draft pick loss that comes with signing him. That would be important considering this front office hasn't liked going after guys with QO attached plus how high we're likely to pick next year.

With him having a down season, I could see him backing off the wait till the offseason to sign.

Wonder what Luis Robert would cost. If he could be had for basically nothing, should we consider? Rh CF, so that's pretty good insurance for Harris.

Obviously I only consider it if he's cheap, but man, seems like a guy that could really benefit getting out of Chicago

Fangraphs actually threw a 45 FV on Bergert, and gives Peña a 40 FV (like MLB.com). If that’s the return for Ozuna, I think we should be thrilled—and the team should not stop there, and keep trading.

Would be a solid return. Really would have liked to get Bradgley "no thats not misspelled" Rodriguez.

honestly doubt the Sox's pick up the options, so I could see him take a pillow deal this offseason.

Pretty certain AA will over fckn analyze this process and wait to crunch time to flip pieces for any kind of meaningful return. Then blow smoke up our asses about wanting to keep them. He's completely fucking up as a GM..
He shoulda sold off last year

He got hot on the dice in 2021 at the deadline, and it led to a miracle run. He should be given a ton of credit for those moves, but I think it went to his head. He's outsmarted himself for the most part since, but had such a great team he inherited that it didn't matter much. Now that the team isn't covering up for his and snit's failures, the shine is gone.
