2025 Trade Deadline Thread

I have a sneaking suspicion people go to the battery because it’s the place to be, not because the Braves have played to 10 games under .500 rather than 15 games under .500. I’d also bet money the vast majority of people at the battery would have no idea anyone was traded away.

Exactly. Weeknight attendance will taper some once school starts, but it will remain something to do for people with disposable income. If the people in charge really cared enough to say, "Don't trade any valuable assets that could bring you back a good to decent return to benefit the team next season even though we're 15 games out," they would not have stood in the way of spending money to put the team in a better position to start the year.

We'll see in a few weeks but people are gonna be disappointed in what AA trades if any. And going over the tax and keeping yourself from resetting it is completely different. They'll put themselves in a good position in the offseason to be able to spend going into the new CBA.

You also have to consider a lot of the tickets are season tickets and have been purchased already. It doesn’t matter if they come or not, the money has been made, and I highly doubt they will give up on this team after one bad year.

Ticket sales are absolutely important, but the ticket is the cheapest part of me going to a game

I definitely hear you. If I’m going with friends and just buy a single ticket I’m for sure going to get more beverages and a snack. If I’m bringing my family, we are getting food first to avoid the food prices because we bought 4 tickets.

I’d still go for the family entertainment value of going to a game.
I don’t go only on nights I think we will win. The battery is still a draw, plus those tenants rent is already due or guaranteed

Trading Acuna would likely have a noticeable impact on ticket sales. I don't think there's any meaningful number of fans attending games because of Marcell Ozuna, Raisel Iglesias, Pierce Johnson or even Sean Murphy.
I’m finished as a Braves fan if they trade Acuña.

DH is the easiest position to fill but LF is the second easiest and we cant fill it. Ozuna wont have much FA value after his stats due to his injury. I dont know what surgery he needs but he might as well get it now. Hip surgery seems like there might be a long recovery time.
