Also, I know it's early, but the Nats have sucked. Awful chemistry.
They may have exceeded their quotient of assholes per square foot.

I don't get why that isn't against the rules.
The runs scored thing is heavily skewed thanks to the 12 run game.
Our pitching looks the part. I really like 90% of what Shelby is. If he can just develop some consistency with his secondary pitches then he will be really good.
Neither does Jordan Walden, but we didn't give a rip when it was our guy jumping toward the plate.
It looks like he's jumping about 2 feet forward, which is effectively adding more than 3 mph on all of his pitches, from the batter's perspective.

It isn't really the jump, but the fact his back foot lands again well before he releases the ball? If the rules are that wide open then there are really ways to gain an advantage I would think
An underrated surprise of the young season so far for me is that CB seems like he knows what he is doing at the plate. I haven't really seen him chase too many awful pitches yet and has taken some close ones as well. This guy was billed as a big time hacker.

I agree thethe - he surprises me every game with something. Last night there were two things.
Of course the stolen base and the confidence and awareness that Latos was taking him for granted. The second was catching the pop up at the on deck circle. I don't remember ever seeing such an athletic play from a Braves catcher
Yeah, this guy has always gotten better every time he repeated a level. I know a lot think that doesn't mean anything and we are to discount performances when a prospect repeates but if he follows the same pattern then we could end up being in a much better spot than we previouly thought. Both CB and Simmons development at the plate (SO EARLY) has been a huge plus to the season.
He has a 48.4% swing rate on pitches out of the zone (slightly higher than Simmons and would be borderline top 10 in MLB). Hes also up their with Simmons and Freeman on total pitches swung at.
Unless you are Vlad Guerror, your batting average on pitches 1-2 inches off the plate, is going to be ridiculously low. Heck, even pitches near any of the four corners are typically extremely low.
Any offense he gives us will be fantastic bc he should be a really solid defender. But, it's been 4 games and he's still swinging a ton.
Where have you been Zito? Not enjoying the Braves 6-1 start?
