4/16/17 Happy Bartolo Day - GDT

Where's the guys bragging about how dumb everyone that thought we could win 78 or more? I miss those posts

It will be an up and down season but when its all said and done I think we will be around 500 and play meaningful games in September. The offense has a chance to be good and if the veterans starting pitchers have one more solid year we may catch lighting in a bottle and have a shot to have an exciting finish.

I thought the consensus around here was in the 75-80 range. There are only a few outliers and they got the grief they deserve.

Ridiculous we haven't traded colon, JJ, Viz, Phillips, and dickey yet. We're gonna mess around and miss out

Come mid-season I suspect we will be open to both buying and selling. Which I think makes sense for where this team is. The buying of course won't be of the 3-month rental variety but some strategic pickups aimed at filling some holes in 2018 and beyond.

They have 5 wins just like us. I won't apologize for beating any MLB team

Agree. Plus lots of better braves teams have had issues beating the bad teams.

It's hard to beat anyone three much less four times in a row.

But nobody is saying this team is going to win 60 plus home games

They've got wins vs dodgers and giants and Rockies. All better than us.

I feel dumb saying it but I do think we will be better with kemp back

How could we not be? His bat would be a tremendous upgrade for the starting linuep. The offense will be good.

I'm the guy you're talking about, but personally I'm still skeptical this Braves team will win upwards of 78 games. They're on a nice little stream, but it shouldn't be hard for just about any team in the majors to look impressive at home against the Padres.

Everything is still too up in the air right now. Injuries always have to be factored into the equation but ultimately the Braves just don't have as many holes, outside of the bench, that they've had in 4 years. One other thing that should be considered is that the Braves have a lot of talent close to the majors (Albies/Newcomb/Blair/Wisler/Ruiz/Kubitza(still could be a nice 24/25th man)/Adams). When the injuries start to happen there is less risk that they'll have to scramble to fill a spot.

I say if we get 800+ innings from our current starting 5 then we are in pretty good shape. The other innings can be filled in with spot starters.
