5-1-16 Braves at Cubs: Fredi Getting Creative With the Lineup Edition

Also, the Braves sent down Withrow and brought up Bonifacio. However due to a rule technicality the Braves were apparently unaware of, Bonifacio can't be activated until 30 days after we originally released him, so we're playing a man down today. Looks like we've skipped Norris in the rotation and Folty might be getting the start tomorrow against the Mets.

People can carp about the Olivera trade and misjudgments in talent, but those types of things are fluid. It's missteps like this that make me wonder about the competence of those in charge. This doesn't rise to the level of having to draft one of your own guys in the Rule 5 draft back in the 1980s (which the Braves did at the 1988 winter meetings with Ben Rivera), but it's pretty close.

Lackey looks like he's trying desperately not to dump in his drawers out there.
