Watching on MLB.com and he doesn't seem to be missing much when he misses

Reports I've read from scouts suggest he isn't wild like the Bb rate suggests. They said he does have mental lapses where he loses it and walks the pitcher. But usually he's close and not all over the place. Good catcher better umps and mental challenge on MLB might help

Two pitches will only take him so far. We will see if they let him go through the lineup three times if it's two pitches

Has anyone considered that his changeup is actually a 90 mph fastball and that he's been throwing it all game?

I've seen some odd looking pitches in the mid-high 80s. Those have to be the change, but it isn't good and he hasn't located it yet.

To say nothing of the great results so far, I'm very impressed with how Newcomb looks on the mound. Great demeanor, quick worker, easy heat. Love it.

Well no earned runs, but he "did" commit the error that caused the run to score. He has done great though.
