Riley hitting streak at 15 games
The Braves' No. 13 prospect extended his hitting streak to 15 games with his impressive showing in a 9-1 win over Greenville on Wednesday. During that stretch, Riley owns a .368/.429/.719 line with five homers, five doubles, 16 RBIs and 15 runs scored. Obviously every organization wants their prospects to finish their first full seasons strong, but that's especially been the case for the 19-year-old third baseman, given the way he struggled out of the gate with a .663 OPS through May. He's pushed that up to .797 by getting better each month, and August proved to be his best yet. Beyond the streak, he almost doubled his home run total by going deep nine times in 28 games to take his season total to 19. Questions remain about how Riley will be able to catch up to the stuff of more advanced pitchers, but he's shown the improvements you'd hope to see from a teenage slugger.
