Riley hitting streak at 15 games

The Braves' No. 13 prospect extended his hitting streak to 15 games with his impressive showing in a 9-1 win over Greenville on Wednesday. During that stretch, Riley owns a .368/.429/.719 line with five homers, five doubles, 16 RBIs and 15 runs scored. Obviously every organization wants their prospects to finish their first full seasons strong, but that's especially been the case for the 19-year-old third baseman, given the way he struggled out of the gate with a .663 OPS through May. He's pushed that up to .797 by getting better each month, and August proved to be his best yet. Beyond the streak, he almost doubled his home run total by going deep nine times in 28 games to take his season total to 19. Questions remain about how Riley will be able to catch up to the stuff of more advanced pitchers, but he's shown the improvements you'd hope to see from a teenage slugger.

Bradley gets the call to the show

Wow! What a turn-around for him this year. Good for him. Whatever he found after coming to the Braves' system has obviously worked. Curious to see if it transfers to the bigs. Anyone ever read a scouting report on the guy?

Didder, I see, has been plunked yet again. that is 38 on the season... that is an incredible stat to me..

Mallex bringing his game tonight.. 2-2 with 2 rbis

You really have to give the pro scouting department some props. They have really plucked some guys off the scrap heap that have stepped up. They haven't all performed well, but they've eaten their share of innings and have actually digested some of them.

If Albies was 6 foot tall prospect gurus would be crazy over the guy.

He is a legit stud on the way.

Albies is a beast. Gonna be some interesting decisions with Ender and Mallex in the offseason. I don't see both in the same outfield bc both has the most value as a CF.

Just another great night on the Farm. Anderson was great.. Touki was good.. Weigel was amazing... Baby Harang just getting them out.. Mallex 2-3/ Ozzie and DPete muscling up.. Gwinnett in a barn burner!!
