Or even better --- you tell me what the circumstances are of working in that shop and why it would be a good idea to foregoe all f your benefits and well being to work for such a swell guy

It doesn't tell me Obamacare is popular...the guy in VA won in spite of it. The debacle that has been Obamacare over the past several weeks was the only thing that made that contest a 2.5 point spread.
 
Nothing would tell you Obamacare is popular. The guy won in Va won (according to exit polls) because (R) has turned into a bunch of pricks. Opposition to Obamacare being only one potion of the equation.

Just because I happen to agree with him, and 60% of the rest of the country, that ObamaCare is the worst piece of legislation that has ever been passed, doesn't make me a neocon shrill.

By the way, I didn't vote for Cuccinelli.

I know you didn't vote for McAulliffe -- shoot I would have had a very very hard time voting for him :)

Again, that race was supposed to be a blow out and ended up being 2.5 points....the only thing that changed from those projections to the time the ballots were cast was the disastsrous rollout of Obamacare.
 
Is Rush pro drug legalization, pro *** marriage, pro ending the federal reserve, against most military intervention, etc? I've never listened to him, but I've always gotten the impression from his critics that he is more of an extreme right winger than a libertarian.

57 stated it hyperbolically, but it's a reasonable point to discuss. Democrats should be weak right now. The president looks to be leaking a bit of oil. Why aren't Republicans more popular, and more widely seen as a credible alternative? I mean, they certainly might be in Nov 2014, but right now, they're not. Why is that?

Could it be because the stuff that animates the right, the stuff that TP types have used to wage war against moderation in the party, just doesn't resonate with electorate at large?
 
Or it could be that the people are waking up just a little bit and are saying "Yeah, democrats suck, but that doesn't mean republicans are good, and vice versa"

The lesser of two evils has to stop. My old friend who was the President of the college democrats at my school posted this on facebook after McAullife won:

"Sigh of relief that Mcaulliffe won. Now, holy ****! Mcaullife won - we're screwed!"

Which to me is starting to become the sentiment with a lot of people. D and R both are awful, and we're not in a better situation because the other team loses. It's encouraging that Sarvis did as well as he did - and that is with the corrupt establishment leaving him out of debates (even though he met the minimum requirements easily)

Railing against "Big Government" is so 1980's and Paulian. I could care less who hates who -- that is fodder for grocery store counters and weak minds. Paul and Limbaugh have much more in common than they have in conflict. Big government and the myth of makers and takers
