Alberto Callaspo Possibly Being Traded

God, we went through a hell of a lot of drama and speculation to end up with that.

Which is a deal I like, mind you, even if I'll go to my grave worrying about Jaime pulling his **** together and coming up with one great season out of the pen.

He's gonna be like Brayan Pena.

So, I guess here's my only question at this point: why did Callaspo have to be in this at all? Is it really because the Dodgers genuinely want him on their roster? I find that doubtful. On the other hand, if they don't really care about Callaspo as a player and we just wanted to include him to balance out some cash, why not just have LA throw in money and then DFA Callaspo? If, for some reason, LA is resistant to giving up money instead of taking on Callaspo, why does that really matter to us? Was getting rid of the, what, $1.7 million left on Callaspo's contract really the difference between us being able to take on Uribe's contract and not being able to take it on? Is money still that tight?

I guess the likeliest explanation is that LA actually does want Callaspo. I suppose we'll see- if they just straight DFA him, then I won't understand that at all.

Dear Juan Uribe,

On behalf of Braves Country, assuming nothing unexpected happens, I'd like to welcome you to the Atlanta Braves. We hope that you help out team win games on the field and be a great presence in the clubhouse. Again, welcome and we all hope that you enjoy your 6-8 week stay with the Atlanta Braves!

Withrow, who is coming off TJ surgery, is the centerpiece of Atlanta's return. Power reliever who has been compared to Jordan Walden

Callaspo, Ian Thomas, Stults and Juan Jaime are believed to be the four-player package the Dodgers will receive from the #Braves

LMFAO. So we gave them 4 players we will likely DFA eventually at some point anyway for a good arm and Uribe? I thought a trade was supposed to be beneficial for both sides. Where's the downside to this deal?

We'll miss Ian Thomas I bet. Could be the next Avilan.

I liked Thomas some what. His minor league numbers suggested that he could be interesting, but he seemed to always struggle when called up. He's the one guy in the trade that I wish the best of luck to. The rest I'll be glad to never see in a Braves game again.

If Uribe is the same defender he's been the past few years then the Braves infield defense could be reallllllllllly good. He's basically Beltre minus the bat.

Taking a look at the Dodgers Promotional Schedule: July 11th is Juan Uribe Bobblehead Day at Dodger Stadium. #Braves

I can't understand this deal.
Why did teams make such a trade so early in the season?
Who has an advantage of this deal? Also the Dodgers don't need the players the got.
We now have two 3rd base man and a (I hope so) good pitcher, who will be ready at the end of the season.

But why we get a player like Uribe. He is much too expensive?
Will we now trade C. Johnson?

Peterson, Maybin, Freeman, Uribe, Markakis, Cunningham, AJ, Simmons w/ CB, CJ, Gomes, EYJ, Ciriaco (KJ, Terdo, Gosselin on the DL) Miller, Teheran, Wood, Folty, Perez w/ Grilli, Johnson, Avilan, Cunniff, Cahill, Massett, an eventually Winthrow I know a lot of you are kinda down on this team, but if we play our cards right, this team can make the playoffs. Hart has done wonders thus far, and im anxious to see what moves he makes going forward.
