Alberto Callaspo Possibly Being Traded

Withrow is an interesting arm, although this all feels like a bit of a letdown after I was thinking about Zach Lee.

Back then it was still FanHome ... the switch to Scout didn't occur until Fox Sports bought into things about 2004ish, IIRC.

IIRC I joined like right before the Scout switch. I remember getting into fights with you, which makes sense since we were both like 16 year old pricks haha.

TJ!!!!

I think I started on the board around when I was 19/20......well over 10 years ago...wow

I too thought Bill was great for a time, until I realize he just had his favorites and made up **** about others. And the MP was probably the last straw

Oh I completely forgot about that. To be fair it has been like 10 years, hah. I just went by what my current registration status over at scout said.

Yup. The problem was that Bill hated being proven wrong. And thewupk was one of the biggest statheads on the board and wasn't afraid to let it be known when he was right and Bill was wrong.

Bill would lose his **** if the board was the same with the offseason we just had. That's a really funny thought.

I think you guys are a little harsh on DOB. His job is beat writer for the Braves on a local newspaper. His core demographic are people who aren't going to care about DRS, WAR, fWAR, OPS+, BABIP, WHIP, FIP, etc.

The niche demographic of stat watchers are going to remain niche for a very very long time. Most national writers are leaning more into the value of sabre, but I'd imagine most local guys are still just writing the basics about their hometown teams.

I don't expect anything great to come from DOB except what he might know about any trade rumors, then again this is 2015 where we don't have to rely on somebody like him for "insider" info. It's all over the internet, and frankly I learn about 99% of breaking news stuff from you guys here anyways.

Yeah. It's similar to the let down I had when I thought Hunter Renfroe was coming to Atlanta in the Justin Upton deal. Matt Wisler is an excellent consolation prize.

I joined 2002 before Scout transition. Lurked since 2001. I liked Bill at one point, then his ego just got bigger than the board, and then the internet evolved and he was rather useless as a source of information. And I never felt the need to pay for premium because what he offered in my eyes wasn't premium. Same thing with ESPN Insider. I understand why they did it, but the same articles that were free before that they switched over to insider just weren't appealing enough to me.

As long as we didn't give up anyone of value then it's a good trade, imo. Withrow is a little old for a prospect (if he's still considered a prospect) and comes with control problems, but he does have a live arm. May be he can be become a good late inning guy. That looks like the path LA had envisioned for him anyways.

Sounds like Ian Thomas will be included in the trade. Even though he pitched tonight, Stults might still be included as well
