1- MBDTF

2- Graduation

3- Dropout

4- Yeezus

5- Late Reg

Damn 808s isn't even on your radar? I think it's a masterpiece.

Mine go:

1. Dark Fantasy

2. Dropout

3. 808s

4. Late Registration

5. Graduation

6. Yeezus

I think graduation is underrated by a lot of people though, it's pretty poppy I guess but still really solid.

I may put 808s #2.

Big Boi is alright, Outkast is obviously awesome but I'll take Dre over BB.

I'm not huge on Jay-Z but I'll take Reasonable Doubt over pretty much everything.

Big Boi is sick, maybe not as good as Andre 3000, but he's fantastic. I think Big Boi is the better rapper but Andre is the more creative one, just from basically Speakerboxxx. Could be off base but just how I see it.

Jay Z had something interesting to say, and he said that. then just kept saying other ****. IMO last thing worth a damn he did was The Blueprint. After that, it became clear that he was just interested in turning out hits, which is fine, but it's cooler IMO when an artist cares about what they put out much more than just you know, caring about hits. One of the reasons that while I respect some of the musicianship of KISS, I would never tolerate them as a band.

Case in point why arguing music is the dumbest possible conversation. It's all taste.

Bad music doesn't exist with exception to Limp Biskit. Limp Biskit is bad.

Ummm, you must not be familar with the rapping skills of Sir 2 Chainz.

"My wrist deserve a shout out, 'I'm like what up wrist?' My stove deserve a shout out, 'I’m like what up stove?'"

"Known to act a donkey on the camel-toe, then take the camel-toe and turn it into casserole"

"I hope you get testicular cancer in the brain, dickhead, by the time you get that"

"With a nigga like me I’m killing this beat - skeet, skeet, skeet, skeet, skeet on my sheets/On top, from the back, I thundercat like (HOE!)/My girl got a big purse with a purse in it/And her pussy so clean I can go to church in it!"

Those are admittedly all miserable to my taste.

But!

2 Chainz's verse on Mercy redeems his credibility. He outshined Kanye and Pusha T on track.

I think some people tend to confuse what's hip hop what's rap what's r&b and sometimes they all seemed to get grouped in the same thing (maybe because they're predominantly black artists).

Also, I think depending on what mood you're in, certain rappers have better flows.

Andre is certainly much more poetic with his stuff, and his southern accent gives him a unique flow to go from line to line (I Can't Wait is a perfect example. He just keeps going and you don't want it to end).

And I do think some people tend to overstate lyrics. There are songs and times where lyrics is great, but there are times where lyrics are ****ty but it still flows well with the beat and rhythm of the song. One example I like is Let It Go (Remix) by Keyshia Cole. The first verse in the remix by Young Dro has terribly written lyrics, but his voice style and flow make it work.

Kanye is great because he's like a 5 tool baseball player. Does everything in his field exceptionally well. He can make great beats, he can rap sick verses, he can be a great supporting rapper on a song, etc. I can listen to most Kanye stuff on repeat. I can't say the same for Jay Z. I like Jay, but sometimes I feel like when you hear one Jay song you've heard them all. Kanye can still make something feel brand new.

As for relating to music, of course it's all personal preference but people revered 2Pac because of his ability to rap and speak about harsh conditions living in the ghetto and the struggle of growing up poor. Myself and all my brothers and sisters can relate to most of his songs and lyrics.

I really miss a great rap group like Bone Thugs where you have different styles blended into one song.

I don't listen to 2 Chainz's solo stuff like, at all, but he's another one people just miss the point on. Yeah, a lot of his lyrics are dumb. But he's not supposed to be a lyrical monster. He makes his music for entertainment and it's fun to listen to in certain settings/moods.

Ummmmm, ok?

He sucks, but his heart is in the right place.

wtf are you talking about zito?
you love to bring up arguments about the dumbest ****. i don't even know what your point is, AGAIN, but what I said about 2 Chainz is pretty standard and true. What is so outrageous about it? You're just bored, go play somewhere.

Um, who doesn't make music to be entertainment?

You certainly implied it with this sentence "He makes his music for entertainment "

Otherwise, that's just an empty statement, as everyone who makes music for living, does so for entertainment purposes.

Yes, he makes music for entertainment like every other artist. He's good at making entertaining music for the right kind of situation. I don't think everyone who makes music is as successful as he is at making entertaining music, otherwise they'd all be as rich as he is. Music's purpose is to entertain, he does it well. Any old person can't just do it, otherwise there wouldn't be so much money in it. I didn't imply anything, you read it how you wanted.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but being good does not make one rich in the world of popular music. 2 chainz rode on coattails. First his group road on the coattails of Ludacris, then his solo career road on the coattails of YOung Money.

For one, this entire post is completely irrelevant to what I said. Your defense of 2 Chainz music is that "He makes his music for entertainment." What does that have to do with anything? It's such an empty statement. Every professional music artist makes music to entertain. This statement does not, in any way, differentiate 2 Chainz from any other artist in the music industry.

Secondly, being a good entertainer doesn't actually make him, or his music, any good.

Justin Beiber and Toby Keith are two of the richest mofo's in the industry. Am I to believe their music is good or that they are super talented?

You're arguing just to argue. My defense of 2 Chainz was not simply "he makes music to entertain." He's good at making entertaining music for his target audience. Do I have to spell everything out, or can you use a lil' common sense?
When did I say 2 Chainz is SUPER talented? I believe he works really hard, though, like anyone who makes money in that industry.
Why are Justin Bieber and Toby Keith rich? Why can't YOU go do what they do if it's so easy? Wouldn't you rather be a millionaire than posting on this message board? Please, make a hit song for me.

I love people who say "oh listen to that idiot! he's not talented! he's stoopid! his music sucks!" while that artist is wiping their ass with their money they've made off music and performing. Yup, no skill or effort involved at all, people just love giving them money for nothing. Why not you carp? Why isn't anyone giving you money for being the talentless moron you are?

Unfortunately, I'm a white guy with no voice, no money, no song writing ability and no connections to the music industry, other than some old college friends who I don't speak with anymore. But yet again, that's pretty irrelevant to the point I was making.

I don't have to be a music artist to recognize quality music. I don't play baseball professionally or do I pretend to say that baseball is an easy sport to play. That has zero bearing on whether or not I can tell that Melvin is an abomination as a baseball player. The fact that Melvin is better than me at baseball doesn't mean he isn't still sucky at what he does.
