Around Baseball 2024 edition

Ohtani possibly hurt on a completely pointless SB attempt. A single injury during a SB attempt completely negates the value of all SBs the player may get. At some point teams are going to realize how stupid these attempts are.

You have just proven beyond all doubt you have no idea why Henderson was valuable.

He stole a lot of bases, duh!

Every walk and single turned into a double.

This is easy stuff man don’t make it harder than it has to be.

Dinosaurs live forever !

That said it does sting a bit. If I was an older Braves fan and had some animosity towards the Dodgers it would sting more. However his play in LA and winning another ring is cementing he will get into the HOF which is awesome for Freddie.

It's the way things are now. I feel no animosity toward anyone in the whole Freeman exodus. Freeman's contract demands (and also age) probably tipped the balance toward the Braves letting him walk and regardless of whether the contracts of Freeman and Olson age well and how their performance plays out, the Braves got some payroll flexibility (at least in the short term) with Olson. I'm a big-time Freeman guy and I'll never cheer against him. When he plays against the Braves, I want him to do well, but I still want the Braves to win.

Skip Schumaker doesn't seem like he'll be taking any managerial position this year. He has to be on the short list to replace Snit, and if he is I'd like to see him stashed somewhere on the staff for 2025.

This. Bring him in for an advisory role for a year.
