Billy Hamilton is maybe my favorite player in baseball.
 
NL standings are ridiculous-7 teams within 2 games. Two of them aren't making the playoffs, and two more are stuck in the wild card game.

Never more true that every game counts. And you better improve your team in July if your one of the 7.

Agree, you know the other teams will. If you want to keep pace, get on the horn
 
Not all improvements come from trades. We went from a -3 WAR 2B to a +3 WAR 2B. That's a 6 WAR difference which is huge. We also added Shae Simmons who has been better than anyone we could have traded for.

Obviously we are running out of ammo in the farm system but I just want to point out we have already improved.

I think we need to upgrade the bench, and add a LH RP, thats about it.

Cant realistically upgrade the lineup, rotation is what it is.

Bullpen has plenty of arms and has been doing better lately with Simmons down there and Walden pitching better.

Pretty much this. I think Wren will get both. He's been adept at getting bullpen and bench help when we need it. Lineup is what it is, for better or worse. An upgrade in the rotation would cost a ton.
 
The guy I think we need is Ben Zobrist. Can play quality defense everywhere and puts up a .350 OBP as a switch hitter. He would go a long way to solving the top of the batting order issues and he can play every day just by filling in for regular starters. Also under contract for next year. He is a good defender in RF if we move Jason to center

The only thing bad about it would be benching BJ would make the bench worse.
