That article is stupid. The DBacks lost that trade just based on how much they could have gotten from another team. Imagine if they waited until the first month of the season to trade him, Brian Cashman would have **** himself throwing his whole farm system at the DBacks. The Mariners were willing to give up Taijun Walker, Nick Franklin and 2 good reliever prospects for him. Even though Justin veto'd the trade that just shows the kind of deal they could have potentially gotten. Prado's a nice player but paying him 11 million a year really kills his value. It had been reported that the Braves were not keen on giving him that kind of money anyways. Bottom line to me is Justin peaked in value a month into the season, maybe the Rangers offer Profar or Justin who we know wanted out changes his mind and accepts going to Seattle. The Braves would be in a very close division race right now if they didnt make this trade. If The DBacks got the production the Braves got from Justin/Johnson then they would probably be leading their division right now.

I don't think anyone can argue not having a Kershaw type along with lack of production from guys in the lineup doesn't make it difficult. But the Braves' chances in the postseason ultimately will rely on how well they're playing going in.

I would be ecstatic if the Royals make it in the playoffs. I always root for long suffering fan bases. I just hope the Yankees dont sneak in. Although if they do and lose the one game playoff we can finally get a 3 game series for the wild card teams.

Texas 81-64
2-8
Tampa Bay 78-66
3-7
NY Yankees 78-68 1
6-4
Cleveland 77-68 1.5
6-4
Baltimore 77-68 1.5
5-5
Kansas City 77-69 2
7-3

it's going to be a good finish for those last 2 WC spots

if i could have it my way, the royals and indians would take the WC spots.

Crazy stat.

Assuming the Giants win, Dodgers and Braves have done everything identical the last 12 games, off days included.

Will be nice to gain some ground on those guys.

The Dodgers may have just had a little wind taken out of their sails. Giants win 22-3. Burn that bullpen!

I'd like for the Braves have a blowout game like that where Simmons pitches the final inning. I wouldn't be surprised if Simmons struck out the side if so.

I think you mean 19-3 but who's counting after 18 runs right? They had 19 runs on 22 hits, that's making your hits count.
LOL, 19,22, same difference.

The Dodgers just got throttled, embarrassed, pounded, pummeled, punked, pwned, demolished, destroyed, schooled (for Magic), brought down to size, beat really bad, shelled, steam-rolled, kicked all over the field and had the life sucked out of them by a skinny, soft tossing pothead. And at home!!!

That home field advantage isn't looking so big for them right now.
