I know he will get a big ovation but I won’t cheer for him. He’s a Dodger now.
If y’all read the piece by Bowman about this, you may change your perception a little - sounds like (as many have pointed out) this wasn’t what freeman wanted at all, and he was essentially out of the loop and blindsided
The Braves didn’t trade for Olson until two days after he supposedly got the call from his agents about the ultimatum they gave AA. That is certainly enough time for him to step in and take over negotiations or assert himself if he really cared. I fail to believe this aw shucks I didn’t know any better attitude he keeps putting on. If he really wanted to stay a Brave and was financially set as stated in that article he would’ve had his agents negotiating in good faith. That didn’t happen.

Swanson now tied for 3rd in the NL in fWAR
Swanson is hitting the ball harder than ever before by about 1 mph, and has increased his average launch angle by about 2 degrees. Those may be real gains that result in real offensive gains, but it still doesn’t support his current .385 BABIP.
Swanson is likely a true talent ~.800 OPS guy now who plays above average SS. There are deals that make sense for the Braves, but probably not $150M+.
I still think the play is to sit back with Arcia at SS and wait for a bargain SS to sign late.
