Around the Majors - 2022 Version

I don't understand how DeGrom keeps seeing his velocity increase year after year during the age range where most pitchers see their velocity decline. You'll see some guys get a one time jump when they unlock some untapped potential with a mechanical adjustment, but DeGrom is the only person who has steadily built velocity every year through his late 20's and early 30's. He averaged 99.5 MPH on the fastball last night. It's just not natural.

maybe why he is hurt a lot. But he is a smart guy and sure he knows his body so I am just going to say he is a special sort of pitcher that no one should be compared to.

He didn't throw a lot when he was younger. So I think his arm is still in its early 20's of development.

Doc and Strawberry introduced him to their former "associates".

Brewers just DFA’d Dinelson Lamet after getting him in the Hader trade. Should we take a flier on him? High K rate and terrible BB rate. Maybe we can fix him.

I’m intrigued by Lamet, but didn’t we have to send out Chavez because of a crunch on the MLB roster? Lamet makes sense if he’s willing to accept a minor league assignment

If the Phillies are going to make a move, it’ll be this month. Outside of two series with the Mets, they have:

Washington, Miami, Cincinnati twice, Pittsburgh and Arizona.
