Agreed. There will always be things that are not quantifiable unless you watch the games.
Pretty sure things like taking extra bases and throwing out runners are quantifiable and why Ender's WAR is what it is.

If Mallex Smith proves to have 15-20 HR power along with leading the league in triples and stolen bases every year, and presuming strong defense, that would play nicely in RF.
I love Inciarte, and these kind of things are accounted for in advanced metrics. Obviously there are limits to it, and it's hard to ever know if things are being valued accurately, but part of Inciarte's value comes from being an above-average baserunner, and it does factor into his WAR.
You can factor in some just based on the positive results but I don't think even advanced stats are able to get at the impact of playing the game like Inciarte does.

Wouldnt have been against trading him for a haul but cant complain with this move.
yep mallex is probably gone though.
Imo, this actually increases his value if we ever did want to trade him in the next year or so.
I have no problem with this opinion, but without knowing more about the advanced stats and what they measure, it's just basically a guess. They do attempt to factor all of this in.

I'd personally rather get rid of Neck, but you're probably right. I'd love to have a Kemp/Ender/Mallex OF. That would be beautiful, and they could help mask some of Kemp's defensive deficiencies.
Has anyone other than u said he could ever be a hitter like that? I've never seen double digit hrs projected much less 20
I want no part of kemp in rf
Oh, well holy crap, yeah.
What are these extra impacts that aren't accounted for?
Not that much of a stretch.
