Braves pay to remove Odor. Bring back Allard

Allard is probably a non tender candidate. The big question is how much money did we send? I have hope we can get rid of Ozuna now.
 
Interesting that we didn't hear anything about Odorizzi opting into the rest of his contract.

Glad he's gone. But curious how much money we had to send.
 
If Odorizzi opted in it’d cost us 12.5 and 6.5 if he didn’t. I’m hoping it’s around 3 million we sent.
 
Allard is very bad, so probably won’t be here long. Pretty creative way to save money though. Looking forward to seeing the numbers.
 
curious to see how much money we'll save but glad Odo is gone nonetheless. Allard is probably DFA'd, just had to get something back. My guess is we sent half but if it's less than that, it's a W.

Think it's tradition the winning team from the previous year sends pizza to the current WS champ.
 
Looking at Rangers rotation, they could actually really use Jake. Dont have a ton of backend SP depth, but still guessing we sent about half. More curious if AA can try to dump Rosario and/or Ozuna next.

I guess if it ever happens, we'll find out lol. Repeating is so damn hard in baseball. Houston probably has the best chance because the AL doesnt have much in their way. But offseason about to get underway, so i guess we'll see who improves from here.
 
How does sending money in the deal affect the luxury tax? Do we get hit with everything we send? Or does this buy us additional room?

If we're still hit with $10MM for Odorizzi for 2023, I don't see the point.
 
Maybe Odo told AA he was opting in then traded him? But yeah, i dont know about this, only save like 2 mil?

Surely a team would have taken on Odorizzi and more of his contract? Man that ended up being a terrible trade for AA. Should have just cut Will Smith.
