About 2-3 years too late. Selling low seems like a bad idea. Teheran is a good candidate to rebound in 2018.

About 2 years too late. Julio should have been sent packing when we rebuilt.
And then we hope to sell him for more gain next offseason? If he fails then we can offload him for truly nothing because he'll only have one year on contract remaining.
Braves aren't in a great bargaining position. They should have sold low on him years ago.
This. A lot of this. And I'm a borderline charter member of the JT fan club.Unbridled optimism in some quarters aside, I don't see this team as being a .500 team next season and so trading Teheran now just to trade him doesn't make a ton of sense. Toss him out there in 2018 and let him try to re-build some value in hopes of a higher return. I've always liked the guy, but I don't know what you could get for him now.
Do you know what they're getting in free agency? Do you think Folty can give us 180 innings and finally be an ace? How about Newk? Gohara? Sims? Blair? Wisler? So how many years do you toss him out there to try and let him rebuild some value? He is what he is. He's a MOR guy.

No one is calling him an ace but he's at a low trade point and can and has rebounded before. I'll take him over anyone in our rotation AT THE MOMENT.

Over gohara? I don’t know about that
The chances of him regaining his plus-plus control and being a 3 win pitcher are big enough that I would rather not see him bounce back for another team that got him for a FV 50 pitching prospect.
Just because they screwed up by not selling high doesn’t mean they have to double down and compound the error by selling low. It’s time to stop chaining mistakes together into long winding cluster****s.
