David Price expects to be dealt

Headley, I'd like him but unless he signs an extension, no thanks.

3 years of CJ > 1 year of Headley.

Same thing on Price except I've said a thousand times we don't have the ammo to get him unless we trade them someone like Heyward in a deal for him and he signs an extension with us. He's probably better than any P on our staff but we don't have the trade chips for him.

I could go through and post the stats, but I don't have the time. Thats simply not true.

I think Matt Garza would be the only free agent SP I'm interested in.

I watched him in Minnesota. It's price-dependent, but for what he is likely to get, I don't think I'd be interested. Guy is a bit of a goof and supposedly not good in the locker room.

ESPN war isn't as good as fangraphs.
Fangraphs had Price at 4.4, Minor 3.4.

No way Price was a whole game better than Minor this past season. That alone makes me throw out fangraph's WAR. They're obviously overcompensating some factor. I know Price has to deal with the DH, but still.

Looks like Bref and ESPN are the same with WAR. Both have the same number.

Price was pretty bad early in the season before going on the DL. He had a 5.25 ERA through 9 starts then went on the DL. When he came back from the DL he had a 2.26 ERA in 18 starts. I tend to when a starter has a decrease in velocity but I would bet a lot of that came early in the season as he tried to pitch through an injury. He is every bit the ace someone like Wainwright is. I like Medlen/Minor but they look a lot better as the 2nd and 3rd starter than 1 and 2.

WAR for pitchers is a pretty sorry stat anyways. But fangraphs is beyond terrible. I would agree that Price was slightly better than Minor ladt yr. But over a full Win better is just stupid.

What do you mean once again, how? I've already answered. Minor had a higher WAR according to Bref... that's what I'm going by.

So your reasoning is based off of ONE stat, a stat that most people agree isn't as accurate as fangraphs. Got it.
