DOGE

Lot of words when you could just typed boo hoo hoo

I’m just sick of the screeching, just like you are in the opposite direction. A federal judge using laws and precedent to rule against Trump’s EO’s that everyone acknowledged ahead of time were likely to prompt a legal challenge is not ****ing tyranny and we shouldn’t go impeaching judges when it’s not even known if their orders were legally valid yet. None of us to my knowledge are constitutional law experts, so forgive me if I’m not willing to just accept the Republican Party’s word for it that their legal argument was so obviously strong that judges are committing impeachable acts by simply delaying it a couple weeks while the process plays out.

Yes, that’s what Trump is doing too when he refuses to pay bills that Congress appropriated. Saying you’re shifting the burden to tax payers is both technically true and false. They’re just not executing the AR side of a loan. I wasn’t provided with an additional “student loan fund” tax.

wut?

Keeping congress from spending money on pork isn't the same thing.

How? Congress is who decides what is spent. Trump can use his power of veto on the next spending bill if he wishes, but this money has been legally appropriated.

WASHINGTON—One of the first efforts to restore a program run by the U.S. Agency for International Development has begun—and it is coming from Republicans.

Congressional Republicans from farm states are trying to save a $1.8 billion U.S. food-aid program that purchases U.S.-grown food and is administered by USAID, which has been largely closed by the Trump administration in recent weeks.

Legislation to be introduced Tuesday would preserve the Food for Peace program by transferring it to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which currently funds it but doesn’t run it. The bill’s sponsors include GOP Reps. Tracey Mann of Kansas, Rick Crawford of Arkansas, Dan Newhouse of Washington, David Rouzer of North Carolina and House Agriculture Committee Chairman GT Thompson of Pennsylvania, along with Republican Sens. Jerry Moran of Kansas and John Hoeven of North Dakota.

“By moving Food for Peace to USDA, the program can continue to equip American producers to serve hungry people while providing more transparency and efficiency as to how taxpayer dollars are stewarded,” Mann said in a written statement Tuesday.

@thethe, were the farm bailout necessitated by his tariffs in his first term the work of the deep state traitors or will he be fiscally responsible and tell farmers to just weather the storm until the big gains come from all the winning?

Because Trump is basically king of the executive branch. To think that he can't stop fraud/waste in the executive departments is crazy.

You're in for a reality check when this gets overturned.

the thang is there is a plan here...first you take away the farmworkers...that way the farmers don't have anything to provide to foreigners on American taxpayers' dime

you gotta admire the elegance of the artifice

Doesn’t the President get the authority to do that when he signs spending bills into law? If so, Biden already handled the waste step when he signed the bill that Congress provided for spending. As for fraud, we’ve seen no evidence of it yet? We’ve just seen spending you don’t like.

Some of it is of a dubious nature.

It sure looks like what's called influence peddling. Is it illegal? Who knows but it needs to be stopped.

However, there is serious waste which you tell me Trump can't stop which is BS.

You are so gaslighted that you're cheering for the bad guys in this. lol

Good news! The right branch is working on determining all that, actually!

As for waste, Republicans had the House, so it’s not like this is some insane Biden dream budget. The world will in fact keep spinning if Trump is only allowed to cut future spending and specific funding that isn’t required by law.

DC juries and all that jazz

our friends are fairly reliable in preferring their own opinion as to what is lawful and what is not

I have a tip for them about a certain Trump coin, or Trump bible, or Trump guitar or Trump jewelry from the past few years.

You libs here don't even know the difference between lawfare and what's real. You're too ill-informed because you have a media that lies to you constantly.

Hell, you thought the Oathkeepers were trying to overthrow the government when in reality they were at the capital helping round up the rowdy guys at the capital.

Whether left or right control the House the prez gets to control the executive branch.

My guy, the authority the President has over spending cuts both ways. Could we just have a President say “hey, that military seems to have a lot of waste. Let’s just eliminate all military operations until we sort this all out?” We’d balance the budget really quickly! There might even be actual fraud there!

But there’s a question on whether or not the entire executive branch holds the power to not disperse funds as appropriated by the legislative branch. The check on that power is the power to veto the spending bills. The executive branch did not do that with these pieces of legislation.

The military will be trimmed by DOGE. Not worried about that.
