DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

Does anyone else sense some animosity between Reynolds and Bowden towards Mayo? Almost like they think that nerd has no business analyzing the draft. When the host asked Bowden if GMs look at prospect rankings rankings, he said absolutely not, and Reynolds laughed out loud very disrespectfully. Reynolds is an idiot, and Bowden is an out of work GM, so I imagine Mayo doesn't really care.

That's actually Dan O'Dowd at the desk with them, but Reynolds is a moron.

Maybe if Bowden looked at rankings he would still have a job?
 
As just another note on Anderson, Moniak jumped from the 10s-20s in the rankings to top 5 and ultimately went #1 in the span of several weeks.

Anderson had a lot of helium and could have been sitting in the same position a few weeks from now. Just because today is the draft doesn't mean any rankings have become concrete.

Yah Moniak was considered a mid to late round pick until about a week ago.
 
Right now there's no one left that if we grabbed them at 40 and went over slot to get them, I'd say it was a brilliant pick. There are plenty of guys who would be good picks at 40, but none deserving the over slot money we have to hand out.

You wouldn't consider Trammell a really good use of the savings? Seeing the way the draft has gone, meaning we know a guy like Kieboom won't be there, I'd say that would be really, really nice.
 
Taylor Swift fan? Glad we didnt draft him. I like the Reds draft though. They should save 2-3 million on Senzel's deal and wont even have to spend all that on Trammel.
 
Now it's blown. Reds have a ton of money, and there is where it's going.
