New Rumor. Man U to sell Di Maria and buy Muller. IF they pull that off, that would be sick. Thomas Muller is a star.

I would estimate 50% of what they paid tonight's crew.

The match was a legit disgrace. I get that in the strictest interpretation of the rules it was a red for Tejada and it was a penalty. But that ignores context. Yes Tejada hit the guy in the head. But with no force. Less force than the Mexican fans throwing **** at Panama players did. And yes TOrres's hand did unnaturally make contact with the ball, but it wasn't in any unsporting method and certainly not deliberate. And he was put in that awkward position by a foul by the attacking Mexican.

Which leads me to the biggest disgrace about the match. Mexican fans. THeir behavior the entire tournament has been absolutely horrific. CONCACAF hasn't uttered a peep. THey are still allowed to call opponent keepers puto, throwing who knows what at other teams players, those things are just despicable. US Soccer was threatened with heavy violations for the "you suck asshole" chant. But Mexican fans have been allowed to loudly chant their hate for years.

IMO FIFA/CONCACAF must address this immediately. Issue a statement to Mexican fans that their actions will result in o nthe field penalties for their team. If they are pelting opponents with trash, the other team gets awarded a penalty kick, if they shine lasers in the opponent keepers eyes, the other team gets a penalty kick. If they shout puto free kick for th eother team wherever the goal keepers kick lands. Meaning if the keeper can hoof it all the way in the air to the other box, penalty kick. Mexican fan behavior has been deplorable.

NYRB reserves 4-2 Chelsea

I know this was just a preseason friendly for Chelsea, but I feel like this should be a story. They didn't get beaten by the New York Red Bulls, but a collection of reserve/academy players, most of whom won't sniff 1st team soccer for the next few years, if ever.. Only three guys on last night's roster make the 18 on match day for the Bulls and one of those guys is the backup keeper (no regular starters were on the roster). I believe the game winning goal was scored by an academy player who is 16 years old, still attending HS in New York. Meanwhile, Chelsea showed up with Hazard, Oscar, Terry, Costa, and basically all of their regulars. This is like the Golden State Warriors showing up in Europe and getting beaten by a bunch of 17 year old semi-pros. Under no circumstances should one of the 5 best (?) teams in the world lose a game like that.

Been reading a lot of JK hate. He deserves some blame. But not all of it. He put a good strategy against Jamaica that should have resulted in a win. Made a few mistakes. But it was mainly player mistakes that cost them. What are the odds that Guzan makes that same mental error that lead to a free kick?

Anyway, US gets Jamaica or Mexico, redemption or rivalry. Either way I like the US's odds. I hope they let us pick a venue and we pick a cold weather stadium.

US has a lot of soul searching to do. They're still the best team in the Federation, but they were showing some depth issues. Without Jozy the attack lacked it's hold up potency. Don't get me wrong, Johannsson played well, but I think his strength in playing would be with Jozy, I think Johannsson and Dempsey are semi-redundant. And you can't overlook the big misses. Wondo should have came on for him as well. Gordon had no business being on the pitch with the game on th eline.

ANyway, some mistakes happened, looking forward to redemption or revenge. I assume we'll have Jozy, Cameron, and Jones back by then. Those 3 were all sorely missed as we lacked cohesion atthe back line, Beckerman was sorely exposed against faster teams, and we missed a healthy Jozy. Only one goal from strikers isn't good.

I don't care for the girls at Chelsea. I did see that happen though. Swansea should've taken advantage of the 10 man squad the last 30 minutes but if anybody is good parking the bus it's Mourinho.

Another game, another 90 where the Red Bulls roll over regular national team caliber players. First Villa, Pirlo, Lampard, Mix, now Giovinco, Bradley, Altidore. Maybe it's about time JK looks in Harrison, New Jersey for some players.
