Build retractable room stadiums with AC. So much OIL money there they can't have AC for a few weeks?

The concern isn't for th eplayers, who'll be fine but the fans. It's impossible to effectively chill a stadium housing 50K+ down to a reasonable temperature. And there's also the concern of stuff outside of the stadium. Imagine you have to walk 2 miles to the stadium in 105 degrees of just facemelting heat?

They have 7 years. Fund a train.

Oil money is endless to them...

I agree it should've never been there to begin with. I liked Japan's idea of hosting it and having Star Wars like holograms on nearly every major stadium in the world to watch it live...

2022 shoudl have been the US's bid. Qatar bought it out. US is likely to snag 2026 if they throw their hat in. Concacaf is pushing hard with bids already in from Mexico and Canada. Since Europe and Asia cannot make bids, it's basically CONCACAF, CAF and CONMEBOL. With there very recently being WC in CONMEBOL and CAF you'd think CONCACAF is in the driver's seat. Only US, Canada and Mexico are fit to host. If US throws their hat in, Mexico is already a dual hoster, to date no country has hosted 3 times, Canada runs into a spacial issue. With their populations kind of spread out you may have issues hosting there. US would be the likely winner with that bid. The other reason why I don't think CONMEBOL will get is is the likely bid for Uruguay/Argentina as host country for the Centennial World CUp which was first hosted in Uruguay.

I guess the positive to the US getting the WC in 2026, I'll still be under 40, so that means I can still act like a total jackass in public and it be OK.

i did walk 2 miles in their heat during a time the cup would be there

it was 111 degrees at 10am. was ****ing brutal. stopped a couple times to get a smoothie and a nice man from Nepal gave me some water.

****ing absurd to have the Cup there

Eric Wynalda and Gus Johnson are the worst to broadcast a big futbol game.

What the hell is FOX thinking? Get any random British pairing and it's instantly better than this.

Refs have been screwing Arsenal all game. Jeez. I've seen about 5 worthy red card penaltys in the box by Hull no call.

so, the stadium that is kicking off the world cup in less than a month won't be finished in time and they won't finish it till after the world cup is done

wow

Wonder if Russia will **** it up as well. Would be for lulz to have 3 disastrous World Cups in a row.

One of my buddies was in Brazil on business a few months back and said by no means do they look ready for this event. I have a feeling that they'll be hammering nails on one side of the stadium while fans are coming in on the other side.

Got tickets to the USA-Turkey match at Red Bull Arena...pretty pumped for that since I've never seen USMNT live.

Usmnt games are great fun. My first was 4 years ago in the send off against turkey in Philly. Also saw them play Brazil after the WC at giants stadium and saw klinsman's fist game in Philly against mexico. Loved every time. Mexico game was extra lively.

Trrying to get tickets for Arsenal v. Red Bulls exhibition... it's the same Saturday as the Maddux/Glavine/Cox HOF induction weekend. LOL

Landycakes was on the bubble. They went defense heavy so he left to make room for Yedlin. I think Goodson not making it over Brooks is crazy. I figured Donovan was behind Davis and Bedoya on form, and the question is do you go solid player in DOnovan or potential in Green?
