Garcia being traded to Twins

Just to update, #Braves still talking to a number of clubs and there's "no deal" with #Twins on Jaime Garcia.

This is terrific. This should drive his price up

We'll probably never know, but I'm looking at this the opposite way. As long as the industry thinks the Twins backed off due to Garcia's medicals, the Braves - through no fault of their own - have lost some leverage in trading Garcia.

that sounds like a good night here in Alabama.. :rock:

Im ok talking to other clubs about a deal but if he gets rocked in ARZ/LA, his value drops a lot.

@Feinsand
Jaime Garcia will start tonight for the Braves against the Dodgers. If he pitches well vs NL's best team, will only enhance his value.

Ugh. I really wish they would push him back a day or something. The Dodgers are really good, and we broke their streak last night. I very much hope I am wrong, but my gut tells me he gives up 7 runs tonight

Yeah no.

As long as he doesn't get hurt, nothing that could happen in a single start will change his value in any appreciable way.

I agree i doubt it changes much but if he hurls a gem, it cant exactly hurt his value. Teams often get desperate around the deadline especially with pitching, we somehow got Demerette for Lucas Harrell lol

What's the expected return for Garcia after his last two outings? I was vehemently against him starting tonight. But that performance only aided Coppy's bargaining power. I do not expect Garcia to pitch again for Atlanta. His value has to be as high as it's gonna get

It probably increased due to performance in his last 2 starts by exactly the same amount that it decreased due to his new team getting 2 fewer starts from him.

Ervin Santana appears to be waking up from his dream season and the Twins are really thin in the rotation (Well, thin except for Bartolo), so unless the Twins have fallen in love with their entire minor league system, they should be willing to pony up. They probably aren't alone.

It's simple economics. He pitches better (like he's done the last 2 starts against really good teams) and his value increases. More teams will want him, thus his value increases. It's really simple.
