GDT: 05/07 O's @ Braves: Return of Ar-See-Ya

Moylan: The fact its backdated makes me think its not serious, I have fully recovered from mine and throw elite BP all offseason.

Bowman:

Fried's MRI didn't create any concern about possibly needing a second TJ surgery. He will be shut down from throwing until his forearm heals. He'll then have to build back up and basically go through Spring Training again. So, timetable is TBD. But this won't be a short-term IL

This is both amazing and terrible

Idk. We don't even know for sure if Wright and fried are done, and the braves have a 7-game lead right now.

The Fried stuff sounds at least a little optimistic now if our patchwork back end can keep us winning games. More concerned about Wright. Starting to seem like he has a real shoulder problem if he had to get a cortisone injection in ST. And now the strain is back. Shoulders are scary.

We are gonna have to trade for some SP help sooner rather than later methinks

I keep saying Lucas Giolito makes the most sense. Having a solid, but not amazing year and he's a rental, so his cost shouldn't be absurd. High K pitchers also tend to be better suited for the playoffs too.

So basically don't expect him back before the All-star break is what I am hearing.

I’d be all about Giolito if his price isn’t ridiculous. Maybe Kran can work some magic getting him back to his previous self. It’s not like the Sox are any good at developing

He was a 4+ WAR pitcher from 2019-2021. Last year was a down year but he's on pace for over 4 WAR this year too.

Ok- so after thinking he’s up for second TJ and that’s pretty much curtains, at least as far as being who he is now, to hearing this news - I’m pretty stoked. Get him back in August ready to roll and we are golden. And maybe Kyle too.
This could work out well for us actually. As long as we keep scoring enough runs to overcome our makeshift pitching…

or better yet, our make shift staff is throwing aces and we send Fried and Wright to the pen cause they got hurt when they shouldn't have. teach them not to have arm and shoulder issues again.
