Travis should be the day game catcher at this point and primary DH.

Having lots of guys hitting well is a good problem to have. Should be able to keep guys fairly rested.

That is probably how i'd line it up to break up the LHH.
 
I still think the hardest decision yet is coming when that 5th starter is needed. Does AA have the balls to dump JJ after trading away a big piece for him. If not, who gets sent packing or does Anderson get optioned.

I guess this depends on the odd Fried news that was coming out yesterday. Not necessarily a 5th starter but if Fried is pushed back to Friday then we'd need a spot start or a pen game on Wednesday.

I get that Nick has options. But he has a 1.99 FIP. No way does he get sent down. If anything JJ will likely have an injury pop up.

With Murphy suddenly being the best hitter on the roster, the goal will be to keep his bat in the lineup as much as possible. It's hard to make a guy catch 5-6 days a week and then DH the other games.

The plan should probably be something close to a 50/50 split at C, with Murphy at DH every game he isn't at C. The DH can be rotated amongst guys to give days off and platoon matchups.

Has to be either JJ or Yates. Snit hasn't shown any interest in using Yates in any close games with the lead. Plus 10 BBs in 11 IP is not inspiring.

Ehhh we are still paying Yates $6 million and he’s been much better lately. I think they would cut bait with JJ over Yates

I agree with the money, but we gave away Malloy for JJ.. that is a tough pill to swallow this early in the season. AA is probably pissed as hell with JJ being so bad.

Yeah I just feel like I’ve seen improvement with Yates… JJ still looks rough. Which sucks… I thought he’d be a really good 7 inning guy.
 
Yeah - if you’ve gotta cut bait with one of em - my vote is JJ all day long. Do not trust him at all and was very glad to not see him come through the bullpen door yesterday.

As much as Snit loves him, I could see Chavez being the guy on the cut line. He hasn't been too good recently, giving up a lot of hard contact. With as cheap as he is, we could technically send him to Gwinnett if he can't get a deal somewhere else.
 
Malloy has about a .900 OPS with a 400+ BABIP in AAA. His MLB projections have him as a .650-.675 OPS hitter with bad defense. He will likely be a AAAA player. Trust me when I say we're not missing anything with him.
