GDT 10/7/23: Braves vs Philthies - NLDS Game 1

Who knows...the excuses are comical...No one wants to admit the obvious...They choked and the moment was too big for them all...period. It's really that simple. October is magnified significantly....

Dumb take since this team has had 2 really good playoff runs before last year.

If someone told me Strider pitched 7 innings with 1 ER and 8 Ks, I would have bet a lot of money the Braves won.

The offense 1-9 completely failed to show up.

The real trouble is now that these 2023 pretenders don't really have the starting pitching lined up to take 3 0f 4 from these guys.

Not sure that makes much sense... we are setup to be able to use Strider and Fried again for games 4 and 5 if it gets that deep. We just need good Elder/AJSS to show up

Not going to sugar coat it though... I'm still freaking mad about this one... you can't waste a Strider outing like that... against mid Suarez and most of their mid pen pitchers

We didn't waste anything. The CI and the play by Turner were the killers. That was a two or three-run swing right there. Two out-scoring opportunities are not really wasted. You either get the hit or you don't. To me, Olson swinging at ball four and then flying out subsequently is a much bigger momentum killer than two outs in an inning and failing to come through. If I recall, that would have been bases full with no outs or one out. Elder is not beating Nola in Philly it's that simple. Considering Monday's push pitching matchup that neither team has a clear advantage in so Philly looks good to move on in three or four.

I'm actually comforted a bit now because you are literally wrong about everything lol

Hold on guys, there's still yet to be an audit of the score. I am confident when all legal runs are counted we will have won this game.

I am not wrong. At worst the game should have been 2-1 Phils, the CI run shouldn't have scored and Turner's play was not routine and the Braves would have scored if the ball gets by him. That's a two-run swing any way you cut it. Thought you NWS jockeys were supposed to be able to add and subtract.

Man you're dense... we wasted a fantastic start by Strider because we couldn't hit out of a damn paper bag against mediocre pitching... how much more clear do you need me to state it? A good play by Turner sucked, but I'm talking about the rest of the game where the lineup literally just slept walked. What I feel better about is you claiming they won't ever beat Nola with Elder starting... since you're usually wrong, I feel better about it. Not to mention we don't even know for sure Elder is starting game 3. Sounds like he is, but he will have a short leash and we have AJSS to take over. Nola has not been very good this year.

If the Braves can win tomorrow night then we should be able to win 1 in Philly. Wasting Striders good start hurt bad and it makes tomorrow night even more tense bc it’s a must win for us. Hopefully the crowd and the offense both show up. Oh and the Dodgers got the dog $hit beat out of them also so that helps.

This current brave team doesn't really have any postseason success. They need to figure it out... by tomorrow

I honestly think Atlanta wins tomorrow, losses Game 3 and wins Game 4.
