GDT 10/7, NLDS Game Two, Braves-Marlins (Braves up 1-0 in the series)

I cannot believe how good Ian Anderson is. I figured he'd be solid but a 1.95 regular-season ERA and what he's done in the playoffs is certainly a pleasant surprise.
 
I just wish more LHH would take advantage of the shift. Lay down a friggin bunt down the 3B line. Take the free hit. If you're a good enough hitter, slap one down the 3B line
 
Anderson seems to be the perfect example of good-not-great stuff combined with “knowing how to pitch”, and is why that cliche exists.

I sort of assume the MLB record is some Dodger.
 
Anderson has faced two pretty bad offenses, but this is still a 22-year old in his first playoffs. and dude has just CRUISED.

this. i know this stuff is impossible to quantify, and the "eye test" means nothing, but he looks so calm and cool out there. works quickly, just makes pitch.

No wonder young people hate baseball, even the announcers who should be pumping up the game are constantly telling them how terrible the sport is.

In fairness... without balls in play this game is mostly boring for the average viewer. That's what's killing the game... not commentators.
 
Who is this main announcer? He just provided the just logically sound argument against the shift I’ve ever heard. He actually almost just convinced me in about 20 seconds.
 
Anderson might be a guy who statcast might not tell the whole story. I don't think we're able to track the similarity of look of a fastball and changeup out of the hand. His results seem to exceed his stuff. Super impressive.
 
On the list of dumb ideas put out by whining baseball people, outlawing the shift is almost certainly the dumbest.
