Hey, a series win is a series win. I hope it was just the layoff affecting Kimbrel and nothing else.

I didn't like what I saw out of Kimbrel tonight. And with our medical staff I don't trust them saying its minor and he just needed some rest.

The Braves have a long and glorious history of hiding injuries, going back to Glavine's broken rib, Smoltz ironing the shirt he was wearing, Neagle's shoulder.

Whitey Herzog always had a saying about his closer use, "Never more than three days in a row, either pitching or resting." He'd put in Sutter in non-save situations to make sure he stayed sharp. Kimbrel was probably rusty, but he still has to get guys out.

Rather rusty than hurt.

He was injured and Fredi was playing it safe. I know CK wants to be out there just as much as anybody else, but I like Fredi playing it safe.

Not disagreeing. I think Fredi made the right move given Kimbrel's shoulder stiffness last weekend. My point is that Kimbrel was rusty.

On the brightest of bright sides, the guys who weren't with the club until the last couple of weeks of spring training have been pitching extremely well. Again, I can only go by the ball strike/numbers, but from glancing at those, it appears Santana wasn't the sharpest, but he gutted through and made pitches when he had to.

Is Kimbrel officially done? Is that extension going to come back to haunt us as he appears to have lost it. Bum shoulder, velocity is down, location is off, wow this is terrible terrible news for us

I know i cant be talking but holy crap you are negative.

I agree with the concern with Kimbrel but do you say anything positive?

There is nothing for anyone to be alarmed about. Kimbrel didn't look hurt at all, just a little rusty and the Mets had some bloop hits.

Kimbrel needs to act more professionally when his manager is making a move and at least have enough baseball sense to know why it was the right move. He deserves an ass chewing for that display.

Gutsy move by Fredi there and a good one.

Don't know if Kimbrel was rusty or hurt. He was hitting his normal velocity but not hitting his normal spots--to say the least. Another outing like this from CK and you can't help but be concerned.

If I'm manager I don't have a problem with Kimbrel's reaction, in fact I bet Fredi was expecting it when he went out there. I'd be more concerned if he didn't have that reaction.

Just saw Bartolo Colon's pic on Gameday. Does he have to go through extra screening at the airport to make certain terrorists aren't hiding in his jowls?

Because if he didn't care, something would be up and that is not a good thing.

I'm pretty much agreeing with you.

Craig was rusty, and he still came in the game in a non-save situation. He hadn't pitched since what, Sunday?

He threw almost 30 pitches, was all over the place with the breaking ball. Hell Laird was putting his glove near the dirt and Craig was throwing it a foot above the strike zone. He just didn't have it tonight, very likely rust.

I'm sure Fredi wasn't surprised by his reaction, but being concerned if Craig wasn't pissed? That's a bit too much of a stretch for me.

Craig was just utterly pissed that 1) He didn't have his control tonight and 2) Fredi wasn't letting him finish the game.

Fredi made the right move, Craig was pissed as most would be.

Gutsy move by Fredi. Totally reminded me of this.

Day game tomorrow. I would guess that they will be cautious and hold Kimbrel out of it. Rest of the pen should be good to go.

I said I would be more concerned. I'd rather have him out there with a pissed off attitude than a ho hum attitude.

I actually apload Fredi for pulling Kimbrel.

Clearly didnt have it tonight.
