GDT #17, 4/19/14: Braves (Santana) @ Mets (Colon) 7:10 PM

I said I would be more concerned. I'd rather have him out there with a pissed off attitude than a ho hum attitude.

Well obviously CK wouldn't be smiling. He really wanted to finish the game, knew his control was off and was hittable tonight.

If CK was ho hum and just walked back to the dugout it wouldn't concern me or shouldn't concern Fredi than if he was throwing a fit like tonight. He was just more emotional tonight because he knew he sucked out there tonight.

That's a pretty broad spread. I'd rather have him had the ball to Fredi and demolish the locker room than show up the manager.

I agree with that and I'm sure Fredi will talk to him and Kimbrel will likely apologize. It's nothing to be concerned about in the end.

Yeah, and who wasn't expecting Kimbrel to have that reaction? I knew it was coming. Fredi knew it was coming.

I knew he would be pissed and would try to talk Fredi out of it, but when he started cussing him out and walked off cussing I thought that was kind over the top.

You don't backtalk the manager on the mound. Not ever. A little league knows this.

But in my experience sometimes you want the little leaguer who does do this. Not saying he was in the right, but I like my closer to be pissed he was taken out. I don't mind the emotional display at that moment. I'm guessing Kimbrel will apologize for his display.

Schafer getting finger(s) x-rayed after 9th inning slide. Final report pending.

Told DOB, pending results, "doesn't think he can play."

Constanza on call?

Zombie expos have played 3 series against teams who're actually good, us twice and the Cards. They're 2-7 against the good teams and 8-1 vs the Nats and Mutts.

Only reason we're not murdering them is that we're 3-2 against the Mets. We've destroyed them and have a winning record against the Brewers.

Major props to Freddi tonight. To have the guts to come pull your closer and not escalate an internal issue was great. Kimbrel ended up apologizing for his reaction. Seems to me that Freddi has a firm grip on the clubhouse.

Braves starters' ERA went down one point tonight - from 1.47 to 1.46. Starters have allowed only 18 earned runs in 17 games.

Fredi said pulled Kimbrel because didn'd want him throwing 35 pitches to get out of jam 1st game back, that he and Roger had discuss pitch #

Our worst pitcher and his 2.89 era pitch tomorrow.

#Braves Kimbrel said it was disrespectful to act like he did when came out of game, went in and apologized to Fredi G afterward.

I know what you're saying, but it's not about desire. It's about self control and self control is an integral part of performance. I get pissed off a lot too, but know not to go into a cussing fit every time things don't go my way. It doesn't change a thing and you look childish.

Kimbrel knew he was done as soon as Fredi came out of the dugout and raised his right hand. His argument was over at that point. If he just had to protest at least he could've had the courtesy to cover his mouth with his glove.

Glad it's over. We're 12-5 and the Nats lost.

Anybody notice the post game reporter ask Upton about how he felt about having no hits vs Colon but came up with the three run bomb in the end? Did she even watch the game? Upton was classy about it, but seemed flumoxed.

Wow, are you serious? Must suck to be you. You get all doom and gloom about everything. The guy hadn't pitched in a week.

Was he being serious? I cannot say given his previous post seems to contradict that view. I mean he had just called Fredi out for pulling Kimbrel saying it was idiotic pretty much. So how can he seriously follow that up with Kimbrel is done? Very inconsistent if he was serious.

What's happened to Tom Hart?
