Yes. If you set a total payroll based on projected revenues, and then all the sudden you lose a big chunk of projected revenue, then that payroll allocated for mid season acquisitions is likely impacted.

So if the runner placed at 2nd is the only one to score, does the pitcher get charged with it? That could artificially bloat some ERAs.
 
How about not walking 5 batters in one inning with a 2 run lead, or making a dumb baserunning mistake with Freeman coming up, or seeing a guy hit 2 guys in 2 pitches, not lay down a bunt, 2 more pitches way out of the zone to then swing at next one...to missing a pop up.

Braves are a really good team, but we beat ourselves a lot with dumb mistakes.

No, they aren't charged with it. Hence, as has been mentioned a lot recently, how deGrom could pitch a perfect game and still lose.
