GDT: 4/12 Marlins @ Braves

Can a pro manager make his team run stairs after a game? Seems appropriate after a garbage performance after the 7th

Because of the Braves' offensive strength, teams in the NL East clearly put some money and thought into upgrading their pitching staffs, especially their bullpens.

If Smyly pitches a little better and Soroka gets healthy maybe we could move him and get what we need. Someone always needs starting pitching.

If he pitches better?? His first start was pretty great outside of the homer and the double. And the double was only costly because of the Ozzie error. He should already have been out of that inning. Struck out 8 and walked 1. I'd say very solid start.

His 2nd start stunk.

The only issue so far seems to be limiting the long ball. Otherwise, Smyly seems like exactly the sort of pitcher we thought we were getting, which is a solid mid rotation pitcher. Let's hope he stays healthy.

Small sample size, but our pen is a cluster. Our line up has major concerns 6-9. The bench has been okay. Rotation could be much better. Fried seems to be regressing from last season, Smyly sucks, Soroka still hurt

That’s why some of us have criticized the Smyly signing.

The BP has plenty of depth, so I don't think we can fault AA too much there. Adding another pitcher would have been nice, but it wasn't really a large need.

The bench depth is atrocious and AA should be faulted for that. Bringing back Camargo for 1.3 million was pretty absurd. Not to mention all the vets that were available for minor league contracts and AA sat on his hands.
