GDT #49 5/25/'14: Rockies (Morales) @ Braves (Teheran) 5:10 PM EST

Some of those are and some aren't. Trout for example is not hitting better then upton right now. Jup is currently a top 10 hitter in baseball.

I am in agreement with you. Justin is hitting very well right now. Putting up numbers he is supposed to. I wont argue that. I hope he can continue to hit like this.

And with those 20 home runs the Royals have hit they have managed to score 30 more runs as a team. Coming into today.

Not sure how you got that from what I said.

Whenever our guys do something good, you tend to be the guy that comes in and says we aren't as good as we think we are and that you'd take other guys over our guys.

Whenever we're underperforming or playing bad, you really really like to rub it in with the I told you so stuff, in the process having some users shy away from coming in and participate here.

I don't believe I've read anything positive consistently from you this season or last, everything is basically "this player should be performing like this" or "I don't expect anything less".

Career OPS:

Holiday 913
Cargo 881
Choo 856
JUp 835
Harper 829
Gordon 777

so Niners is not too far off, although Jason Bay at 841 shows how career stats can be misleading.

Recall the whole thing started when someone wondered if we can pay him enough to keep him, and I don't see how, unless you let Heyward walk.

If talking about the current or the future (which he was), he's way off.

and Seth Smith is having a better year than just about anyone.. that's why you have to go further back.

i'm pretty sure it was supposed to be the current, not the future. Assuming its the currrent ("who would you want to be your LF this year?) how is he wrong, besides Gordon?

Consistency is overrated.

Because I said it?

If Holliday were our LFer right now you'd be whining incessantly about how terrible he is, how he's declining, and how awful he is defensively. Since he's not on the Braves, you think he's better than Justin. OK. Grass is always greener.

I have higher expectations of the team I guess than others do. I think BJ Upton is a very bad hitter. I hope he proves me dead wrong. I would be happy if he hit .220 and double 10 bombs would be gravy. I wasn't even posting during our losing streak either. I try to stay away when we are in a rut.
Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

That's true but people like Holliday are clearly in decline. Upton is in his prime and should be at his best the next few years. And with the current market he will easily get 20 plus a year without any improvement. If you think 18 a year is too much like niners is saying then you just haven't been paying attention.
