I'd fully disagree. That being said, leaving Ian Thomas in against Dustin and big Papi is about as stupid as I've ever seen.

Fredi refusing to take out pitchers struggling will likely cost us this game. No reason to blow a big 6-1 lead. I also don't know why Gattis was sit after his big game yesterday and two AL games coming soon (meaning he can rest via DH in those games).

Because Gattis is not an everyday catcher. If you want Gattis to be effective in September and the playoffs he needs days off pretty regularly.

I guess nobody ever told Thomas that hustling to cover first base might be important.
