Especially vs a RHP. If Riley is so bad he has to bat 8th, why not stick Joyce in there with the platoon advantage?

I agree with your point but if only bad hitters hit 8th WTF was Ozzie doing there for close to half a season?

Man, hard to say...

Pache isn't coming up unless he's playing everyday, and I was thinking the guy they acquire would be more of a 4th OFer.

Pache has over 450 PAs at AA (and would be at 500+ by the end of July), so it wouldn't be unprecedented to call him up if they think he's the best everyday option in CF.
 
Key mistake by SD to keep Quantrill in for the third time thru the order. Hopefully the Braves can capitalize.

Actually developmental purposes. I don't have access to the athletic but I saw the snippet about it. They wanted him to stop swinging at pitches out of the zone as much as he did.
