That was ball 4
Didn't Acuna recently say that his legs aren't all the way back and he doesn't trust them yet?
I'm not opposed to this, but his defense is far down the list of concerns on the team. Not a single game comes to mind for me that his defense or "lack of range" cost us.
I too want Ozuna gone. Who are we packaging with him, and who should we expect in return?
The correct play was to not extend Olson so Riley could move to 1B in a couple years. As it currently stands he will probably slide to 1B/DH when Ozuna is gone.
Even the biggest Riley haters on D, I have not seen anyone say he's not a net positive by a long shot. Just people pointing out it might hold him back from being a MVP. So at the MVP level I think you can be critical.
No idea what we'll do with Ozuna. He still hits it hard so maybe he'll be on the team. I don't think he should be on the playoff roster. I want him gone.
As a braves fan during the rebuild I would have been on board with taking Ozuna if we got a good prospect. I hope AA doesn't do that.
I hope AA just finds someone who is willing to gamble. I keep saying orioles and Brewers. They need power and are cheap. THey'd be interested if we paid it down to 2/10 million, I'd think. Just take what you can. One year didnt' we get a 2B for the Reds that we picked up 1 million of his 18 million? Sometimes the roster spot is more important than the money.
In theory you can still do that if Ozuna is gone. Riley or Olson could be the DH or they could alternate.
But that is my worry at SS too. IF you put in big money for a Correa, you may want him off of SS in 3-5 years too. But maybe he can go to 3b or 2b.
Get Correa at SS. Put Grissom at 3rd and put Riley in LF. Problem solved.
